QUAD - December 2009
Annual Awards Night, Saturday 7th November 2009, Downpatrick Cricket Club
Report: Sonya McQuaid
The club’s annual awards night was a hectic affair with over 120 competitors up for awards. Club Chairman, Brian Hunter, welcomed all invited guests especially Jimmy Walker from Temple Club, Tommy Hillis Chairman of North Armagh Junior Quad Club, Nigel Fitzsimmons and Victor Wray; who had put in sterling work throughout the seasons as Clerks of Course. He went on to thank landowner John Miskelly, the Red Cross and St Johns Ambulance, without whom, there would be no racing.
Special guest for the evening was County Down's very own "STIG", who arrived in style on his quad. He had little to say but the kids loved him and he stayed for the photos with them.
The children were entertained by Maggie Jane's Roadshow, which was excellent, and were embarrassed by some of the dads who showed off their moves on the dance floor.
