QUAD - January 2010
Another season over and what a hard one!
We did start the Wyre Forest Off-Road enduro championship but we had to abandon that in favour of concentrating on the ACU MMX and NORA-MX Championships. Poor old dad was spending too much time in the garage and, as I won the Wyre Forest last year, I wanted to concentrate on quadcross which I hadn’t done before. Having done the practice with NORA-MX at the start of the season, I really enjoyed it and seemed to do okay. The ACU MMX Championship was a good experience, riding on new tracks and watching how the big boys do it. I also got to pick up some useful advice. I must say well done to Regan Carmichael, who I seemed to be battling with most of the time, the championship could have gone either way. The NORA-MX races also saw some good battles, with me Harry Miller and Jordan Harris all fighting for top spot. Poor Harry had his fair share of machine problems and Jordan didn’t have a very good start to the season. Again, the Championship could have gone either way but my quad seemed to be as fast as the rest and proved to be reliable. So, by the end of the season, things turned out well for me, winning my class in both the British and NORA-MX championships.
I would just like to say thanks to my uncle Acker for all his help and advice and my dad for spending all the time in the garage, Ed Davies for building the engines and Ant Deacon from MKM.
I’m looking forward to next season but it will be quite different as I will be on a 250.
